Where Tiffany is from and how she got to Atlanta:
Tiffany was born and raised in New York City. After starting a family of her own, however, she decided it was time to look for a new place to call home - one where she would be able to stretch out and relax in a house with a backyard for her children. Atlanta seemed like a perfect balance for Tiffany who describes herself as “a city girl who wasn’t ready to completely let the city life go.”
Professional & educational background:
Tiffany graduated from the New York Institute of Technology for Architecture & Design in 2006. After completing her studies, she has worked in various positions such as customer service, finance, administration, real estate investing, as well as family and community engagement - the latter of which being the vocation she is most passionate about.
Her role at Grove Park Renewal:
Tiffany has been hired as Grove Park Renewal’s very first Resident Advocate. A Resident Advocate is an individual who provides care and accountability for the residents in Grove Park by fostering one on one relationships, hosting events, and developing organizational partnerships. Resident advocates work closely with one another and Maureen, the Director of Community Engagement, to reinforce a thriving community for residents of the Grove Park neighborhood.
Why Tiffany is perfect for the job:
Tiffany has been a resident in Grove Park since 2008, making her well-connected to the neighborhood and aware of its unique history. She loves Grove Park and considers it to be a perfect blend of city and suburb, affording her all of the perks of city living within the context of a loving, close-knit community. Furthermore, Tiffany is an individual with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, allowing her to connect with a variety of different people ranging in age, race, ethnicity, socio-economic-status, ability, education, life experience, and more. Due to her professional background, personal passions, conflict resolution skills, and active listening training, Tiffany is the perfect person to serve as our very first Resident Advocate.
What Tiffany is most excited about:
Tiffany is excited to put her gifts to use saying, “I am excited to build networks of diverse partners that honor unique assets, balance power, and strengthen connectivity across the community.”
The Grove Park Renewal team is excited to welcome Tiffany and witness all the great work that she will do for the residents, the neighborhood, and the city of Atlanta at large.
Welcome, Tiffany!
